I remembered reading this buried deep on the Lavry forum:http://www.lavryengineering.com/forum_images/clocks1.pdfI also remember reading either on the dCS site or in the Stereophile review that the Verona clock was a later addition to the s...

The cut is the beautiful Conchita Supervia is inging Carmen with Gustav Cloez in 1930http://www.mediafire.com/?iijmy0inmmoSorry for the clipping sound – it’s recorded at +3dB at the peaks. The damn SPU with its 3mV output and the 64dB in my phono...
Sorry for being so nasty, Romy, but I meant connecting the CEC TLO with the Lavry 924 via the dCS 974.
I do not see you being nasty, where did you get this from?
May I ask you- what you proposed to drive CEC TLO into dCS ...

I borrowed a dcs 'Scarlatti' for the weekend and compared it to a Lavry 924 and the MSB Platinum, the DCS had the highest resolution of all three, not by a huge amount mind , particularly nice treble I thought, this was just solely with CD....

Did I tell you that Pacific Microsonics DAC is a phenomenal 16-bit DAC? I did not lie and it is very good. Look however what the updated Lavry 924++ did with it.
They are very short and small (6Meg) files, mono, 88/24 with a few seconds of opening o...

A week passed since I updated my Lavry-924, what a sound! If before the DA924 was just the most advanced and the most interestingly designed multibit with excellent sound then now it is becoming the most advanced and the most interestingly sounding D...

Rom;s borrowed a Lavry 924 today, what a great piece of kit, it has restored my belief in digital it doesn't lack lustre! Keith ( I don't sell them in case you were wondering)!...

Romy Hi, I just mean that instruments sound more real, through the Stahl-tek whether is is the decay of a high hat or the weight of a piano, 'presence' is the same I guess when the instrment just sounds more real, re the selling part I have been look...
Pacific Microsonics are filter kings, but if the Lavry is the best hardware, wouldn´t it be nice to let it play the CDs, too?
I did, the TL0 transport reads CD with so much more quality that any further experiments with DAC...

Romy if you have the oppurtunity , try to hear the new dac by Mike Stahl, the Stahl-Tek 'Vekian' in my system it has greater resolution, weight and presence than the Lavry and MSB platinum which were my favourite dacs until now, regards Keith....

The aim was to try to reproduce opera in a room, which conventional speakers seem to do so implausibly, at least the few I have been exposed to. Why the SH50 gets closer than the others I do not know: perhaps it is coherence across the frequency rang...
It looks like you're looking at the right brands for ADC. It seems likely to me that getting proper A/D conversion is as hard as or harder than getting proper D/A conversion. I'm currently shopping for a good A/D converter for a ...

No, I do not use external clock as I have only one digital devise
in case of recording. When I record I use Pacific or Lavry internal clock as
master and I always slave Lynx to my A/D. I use to run it independent and it
was fine but then last ye...

Allo Antonio,
I think for the UK it's 2012. Also, hHere in London the only classical station worth listening to if you ask me is BBC Radio 3. So a TU-X1 and Lavry would be something of an enormous investment all things considered. I'm fairly sure we...

I listened to these files for two (2!) hours last night. Over and over again. Don't ask why. The choice of music is unfortunate but it is what it is.
There must be some physiological activity going on with the A8 box as I became somewhat accustom...
Well, I figured out – if digital is dead then I need to put the heavy artillery in the fight I begin to spin records. With my TT setup I have an interesting tool - I run my input-choke powered “End of the Life” Phonostage ...

You are not exactly correct about Lynx. First of all my card had no DACs aboard it is just a digital I/O, channels re-mapper and the card’s software. Before I got the card I interviewed quite many technical people about t...
Whereas I do. deParavicini's worked on designs in Japan over several years and became familiar with the research going on there in the Seventies which culminated in identifying the HD decay-spectrum as a key indicator...

I use dual wire mode from Pacific and single wire mode from Lavry. I do not think that there is a difference between single and dual wire modes if the mixer is done properly. I prefer dual wire modes as Lynx clock slaving works very stupidly in dual ...

It is truly perfect evening here, in the Romy the Cat’s castle. The weather today in Boston is phenomenal, temperature just spot on, with no wind of humidity. I woke up just 15 minutes before the BSO broadcast, warmed up the Milqs, Schwarz and Lavry....

Romy,I'm not sure how "transparent" you find the Lavry etc AD/DAs, but since you have them, it might not be difficult to throw in an adjustable digital delay; eg these chips from TI http://focus.ti.com/paramsearch/docs/parametricsearch.tsp?family=ana...

Juts to give an idea of what is going o… Here is a fragment from today’s glorious performance of BSO… The fragment has slightly less brilliance and slightly more noise than the ordinal file and it was resaved in 32 bit WAV format (originally recorded...

Romy, My Bidat being extremely sensitive to incoming electricity and now with Purepower in my mix I am getting to know my Bidat in a new light. I did think I had a grasp of what the Bidat could and couldn't do but feeding it through Purepower it has ...

Related to posts on other threads, I recall noting that the Model Two's clock frequency is slightly off 44.1 KHz.With the Model Two in Master mode, the Weiss AFI1 reads the clock frequency as something like 44.08 KHz (I'm not in the UK right now, but...

AIFF to Mac pro, made a 16/44 disc, and wow, even in this format it is very enjoyable, and shockingly dynamic! (I guess it is time to call Lavry.)This is such a moving piece, and to think how much more music can become available, a new era seems to b...

After hearing what a well designed FM station recording setup could deliver I became a believer. The question was what would be the cost involved to implement a good setup. After doing some research on the cost of Romy's components to capture fm br...
